Agnus Dei
Original Motion Picture Soundtrack
Music composed for the documentary film Agnus Dei, directed by Massimiliano Camaiti.
The film observes an ancient Benedictine ritual in Rome, unfolding at a slow and restrained pace. The music was developed alongside the images, conceived as an equal presence rather than an illustrative score.
Built from electronically processed acoustic recordings — including voices recorded inside the monastery, prepared piano and cello — the soundtrack explores repetition, restraint and spatial resonance. Impulse responses captured on location were used throughout the process, embedding the physical resonance of the building into the sound.
Alongside its function within the film, the music also exists as an autonomous listening work.
